digital modern art

Often confused with computer art, the label digital art applies not only to art created on computers, but also art created from any digtal source, especially digital video.

Digital artWhilst virtually all modern electronic devices are "mini computers" in one way or another, digital art is mostly associated with digital video. There are many digital video artists in the world - and, although it is still in its infancy, the scope for this art in the 21st century is amazing.

Already, major modern art museums and galleries around the world are showing digital art to their visitors.

Unconstrained by the outdated video tape, the future is in digital art - and the breadth of creativity that this medium allows is staggering!

Realistically, digital art is still so new that it has not yet formed a nucleus of artists that characterise the genre as virtually all other art forms have.

But given the dynamic nature of all things digital - this is an area where there will be massive growth in the years to come - and the availablity of cheap equipment, digital video cameras, computers etc, digital art is within the financial reach of most creative people.
